Question by JC: Will I fail a drug test for taking legally prescribed medication?
I’m supposed to take a mail-in drug test (urine) for a new job today. I’m worried though, because I take 30MG of D-Amphetamine Salts (generic Adderall) every day. This is legally prescribed to me for ADD treatment; I don’t take any recreational drugs. Can a drug test distinguish between this usage and illegal amphetamine use? I can’t afford to lose this job over a wrongly failed drug test.

It will show up on the test as an amphetamine, but you can tell them ahead of time the prescribed medicines you are on so that they won’t fail you for that.
