Drug Addicted Infant?

Question by Slassy Girl: Drug Addicted Infant?
If a baby is born with a suspected addiction to drugs, will they test at the hospital? And when the test shows positive, I assume the authorities would be called… What then happens to the baby? Can a family member opt to care for the child?
I am a family mother of the father, not the mother, and the baby would have no contact with the drug addicted mother.

Not if the addicted mother can have access to the baby
