There is an Ulta that has opened near my house and since it opened,I go there almost every day on every weekend to buy new makeup and nail products. I am only 17 years old going to 18 in a few months. I really love the store. It has almost everything. You could be having symptoms of a shopping or spending addiction, especially with the euphoria that you feel during (and/or) while feeling guilty afterwards. The hiding of items that you’d purchased is also a sign of a spending addiction. Please ask your mom or dad to make an appointment with a licensed mental health counselor.

Those with a shopping addiction can end up with “bad credit” (a poor credit score) which can hinder one’s ability to rent an apartment, own a home, purchase a car (unless paying with cash upfront), or even obtaining certain jobs. The addiction may also interfere with one’s relationships and/or mental or physical health. Please do talk with a licensed therapist and get further evaluation to help prevent such consequences from occurring.

This site *may* have a local support group (or other types of support groups) from “debtors anonymous” albeit *not* in place of professional counseling (and mainly for those already in debt, but those individuals most likely have a shopping addiction): http://debtorsanonymous.org/admin/index.php/find

To search for licensed therapists, here is a website: http://findtreatment.samhsa.gov/ and can click the second link and proceed from that point. Their toll-free 24/7 *referral* hotline: 1-800-662-HELP (4357).
